SSB 3020 passed through Senate Education Subcommittee yesterday and passed through Education Committee today. Next, it goes to the Senate floor for debate. If it passes the Senate, it will go to House where there is a similar bill HF 2049 that was introduced. The House File includes adding suicide hotlines to the back of ID cards as well as broadening the law that requires schools to provide one-hour annual training on suicide prevention and/or trauma training to also include the overarching field and framework of school mental health. Please email your Senators encouraging them to pass SSB 3020 and your House Representatives encouraging them to support HF 2049.
